Now, new plot points and character inclusions are beginning to come to light, giving fans fresh theories about what to expect from the upcoming DCU film. After over a year of speculation, James Gunn has finally confirmed that Jason Momoa will play Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

Momoa has played Aquaman in the DC movies since his cameo in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But his run came to an end with 2023’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which was a critical flop and made well under half of the $1.1 billion 2018’s Aquaman made at the box office.

Jason Momoa is staying in the DC Studios family. The actor, who previously appeared as Aquaman in several DC comics films including two standalones, will co-star as Lobo the intergalactic bounty hunter in the upcoming “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

David Leitch is ready to direct a Lobo movie with Jason Momoa whenever DC Studios wants to greenlight one. The filmmaker, whose credits include John Wick (2014), Atomic Blonde (2017), Deadpool 2 (2018),
