Maker Dylan has created a Raspberry Pi Zero 2-powered e-ink photo frame that generates flower paintings on demand using AI.

Raspberry Pi has announced an upgraded version of its compact computer-in-a-keyboard, adding the new features and performance improvements of the Raspberry Pi 5 microcomputer it introduced last September.

The CM5 uses a BCM2712 Cortex-A76 64-bit SoC running at 2.4 GHz and has memory options from 2 GB through to 16 GB of SDRAM, although the latter won't arrive until 2025, and 8, 16, 32, or 64 GB of eMMC flash memory. There is also a CM5Lite version with no eMMC flash memory.

The Raspberry Pi 500, by itself or as a desktop kit, is now available through approved resellers. The $120 desktop kit contains the Pi 500 computer, a mouse, a USB-C power supply, an HDMI cable and a beginner’s guide. Monitors aren’t included in the package, though today Raspberry Pi also introduced its new Raspberry Pi Monitor for $100.

The Raspberry Pi 500 is a follow-up to the Raspberry Pi 400, which was released in 2020 based on the Raspberry Pi 4 board. Because the Raspberry Pi has such a small footprint, it's possible to build a keyboard around it without making the device too heavy or bulky.
