While many people are making prime rib and roasted potatoes for a Christmas Day feast, others are gearing up to dine out with Chinese food, which has become a beloved choice in the United States and dates back to the early 20th century when Jewish communities in New York City often found themselves excluded from Christmas celebrations.

Yelp determined the top Chinese restaurants by weighing not only the highest-ranked spots, but also the volume of reviews. More reviews mean more influence, causing a restaurant to rise to the top of Yelp’s search results — and spurring more people to eat there. Yelp’s list, then, is a sort of extra layer of vetting.

Corner 21 Chinese Cuisine was one of three Missouri restaurants on the list of 100, and the only Missouri restaurant with a spot in the top 20.
