Founded in 1983, the Modular Building Institute (MBI) is an international non-profit trade association for modular construction. Members are manufacturers, contractors, and dealers in permanent modular construction and relocatable buildings. Associate members are companies supplying building components, services, and financing. MBI strives to keep up with the latest industry trends and has expanded its membership to include architects, owners/developers, and general contractors. As the Voice of Commercial Modular Construction, it is MBIs mission to expand the use of offsite and modular construction through innovative construction practices, outreach and education, and recognition of high-quality modular designs and facilities.
