We were so happy with our guide Fancesca that we did tip. We may have tipped her as much as 30% of our tour cost, but I think that might have been a bit high (but we just loved her so much). I had heard as much as 20% is good but here is a guide that was recommended to us on tipping in Italy: Taxis: Round up to the next figure Restaurants: 10%of the total bill Luggage: 1 Euro per piece Private transfers: 5 Euros to the driver Private car & driver: 15 Euros to the driver half day/30 Euros full day Private Guide: 20 Euros to the guide half day/40 Euros full day I hope this helps!
