Definitely the best way to get the the museum is to take the MTR from Kowloon Bay to Sha Tin station. From there you can walk to the museum. It's an easy walk and it is well sign posted from the MTR station. Travel time is approximately 40mins.

Note, the hours posted above, are the hours on the original website which I have pasted here: Opening Hours Monday, Wednesday to Friday #TAB#: 10am - 6pm Saturday, Sunday and public holidays #TAB#: 10am - 7pm Christmas Eve and Chinese New Year's Eve #TAB#: 10am - 5pm Closed on Tuesdays (except public holidays) and the first two days of the Chinese New Year Starting from 1 October 2014, the box office will be closed 30 minutes before museum closes.
