I can't remember whether it was there when we visited last year, or not, but there was a guest exhibit, and I don't recall an additional fee for it. If you're unable to find out from one of us, and if you haven't already checked the Castle's website, there is an email address to the info desk listed at the "contact us" button. I found most places like this were very responsive to emails when planning our trip. Our visit to Kalmar Castle was one of our favorite excursions. Enjoy!

Sorry, I only spent one night there and the castle was not open. We arrived too late. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Sorry I cannot remember the hotel name. The dinner was pricey but was one of my most memorable meals. The hotel was on the west side of a square in the center of the city.
