I can connect the ethernet to the Surface Pro ONLY IF i plug the ethernet into my old Lenovo USB dock and connect that to the Microsoft Dock via USB. This worked perfectly, the monitor giving its native resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz. I switched to a Surface Pro 9 and connected it to the Surface Dock.

I manage to switch on my Surface Pro 4, with Surface Dock with close cover. Just by pressing power button, my external display starts to work just fine. Computer is working with MS bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The problem is that after couple od seconds (less than one minute), my Surface Pro display is switching on although its still closed.
